Where the database fits

Pumpkin stores tenant-scoped page records through its .NET API. The repository documents Azure Cosmos DB and a local MongoDB-compatible development path. Storage is one part of the system: asset bytes, domain routing, frontend rendering, and cache invalidation need separate configuration.

A responsible setup sequence

  1. Choose a supported database provider for the environment and run the bootstrap utility.
  2. Create a test tenant, then write and read a page through the API.
  3. Check tenant isolation, backups, restore, and failure handling before production content.

What this page does not claim

A database choice alone does not guarantee uptime, low latency, or a successful restore. Test those properties on the infrastructure you actually operate.

Source and scope: Product behavior described here is based on the public Pumpkin CMS core and the current content contracts. Check the public release you deploy. This draft does not claim managed-service terms, customer outcomes, or a security certification.
